About
Welcome to Casa Mia's Surfside, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Surfside Beach, South Carolina. Located at 2298 Glenns Bay Rd, this delightful restaurant offers an exquisite blend of seafood and Italian cuisine, promising a dining experience that is both casual and comfortable.
As a food reviewer for Foodjoyy, I was eager to explore what sets Casa Mia's apart. The ambiance is inviting, albeit with a casual charm that some might describe as relaxed. While tablecloths might be absent and plastic dishes used, the true focus here is on the food—a sentiment echoed in numerous customer reviews.
The menu offers a tantalizing variety, from the standout crab cakes—highly praised yet noted as on the pricier side—to delicious Italian classics and creative pizzas. The crab dip, teeming with rich, creamy crab meat, has garnered particular praise, and their white pizza, with delightful toppings like fresh broccoli and tomatoes, is a refreshing twist on an old favorite.
Locals rave about the crab balls as well, noting their generous portions of succulent crab meat with minimal filler, making them an excellent choice for crab lovers. Regular visitors frequently request their favorite waitress, Donna, who, according to several reviews, adds to the welcoming atmosphere with her attentive service and warm personality. Customers often leave with plans to return, having enjoyed not only the delicious food but also the personable approach from the staff.
In addition to the taste and service, Casa Mia's community spirit shines through—offering flowers to women on Mother's Day is just one example of their thoughtful touches. Whether you're craving something indulgent like mac and cheese with crab and shrimp or a hearty pit beef sandwich, the menu promises satisfaction for all taste buds.
As I wrapped up my meal, I couldn't help but feel connected to the delight of the diners around me. Casa Mia's Surfside may be simplistic in decor but excels in delivering flavorful dishes and a warm, family-friendly environment. This inviting eatery is definitely a place worth revisiting, not just for the food, but for the joyful dining experience they create.

“ We are locals and tried for the first time. Crab cakes are excellent, but expensive! The photo on website shows 2, I only received one. Waitress apologized but said that’s the way it is now. Pretty place, but without tablecloths and using plastic dishes, it’s more like a pizza place than a nice seafood/Italian restaurant. We loved it, but either lower the prices or make it more upscale. ”
“ I brought my husband today for the Sunday pit beef sandwich and it didn't disappoint. It was delicious and had enough meat on it for two sandwiches. I had the margherita pizza and it was delicious as well. One of the best things was that we found Donna. We've know our waitress Donna from another restaurant for several years. So to have fallen out of contact and see her today was awesome. We will definitely be back. Fantastic food and wonderful staff. ”
“ Casa Mia's is one of our favorite restaurants. The crab balls are amazing and we get them every visit. Donna was our first server and she was so great we request her every time now. The food is absolutely fantastic. We have ordered off the regular menu and special menu and have been amazed every time. We will be back regularly!! On Mother's Day they gave all the women flowers. What great appreciation!! ”
“ Casa Mia's is a wonderful smaller restaurant with great food. There are many things to choose on the menu from Mac and cheese with crab and shrimp, to Italian dishes, they even have pizza. The Crab cakes are the best in the Myrtle Beach area. If a crab cake is too big for you order the crab balls they are just as good. Filled with lots of crab meat and little of filling. We were with a group of 4 and our waitress Donna was very welcoming and served us efficiently. We all had a wonderful time there and enjoyed our meals and we will be back again. ”
“ This place is absolutely amazing! Donna was great! We were so pleased with everything! The crab dip was full of crab meat, rich and creamy! Next we tried the white pizza. What a great idea throwing some broccoli pieces on top with the tomatoes and cheese! We also ordered the 8oz crab cake dinner and we were speechless. The chunks of crabmeat in every single bite was absolutely delicious! Instead of the roasted potatoes we asked for Mac n cheese instead and it was great! Still bubbling when it came to the table! We will definitely be coming back! ”
“ A real diamond. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously on Mother’s Day and can’t wait to bring family here when they come visiting. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and eager to please. We enjoyed every item that we ordered. Cream of crab soup, mini crab cakes, crispy salads, diver scallops and the best chicken Marsala ever. Our server Donna was so fun to have serving us today. Ask to sit in her section, you won’t be disappointed. ”
“ PHENOMENAL CRAB CAKE! One of the best I've ever had. 6 or 8 oz for market price. First picture below was 33. Also fantastic brussel sprouts. Long list of pastas & pizzas cooked over the fire by the bar. New, clean, modern atmosphere with outdoor seating. More of an Italian/seafood place. Will be back! ”
“ We recently moved to the area from Maryland, and this was the best crabcake we've ever had. It was excellent! The MD crab soup was also very goodm. Our waitress, Lisa, was also fantastic. She went out of the way to get us a table when we didn't have a reservation. Will definitely pay them another visit. ”
